Role Summary At a Leading Wireless Technology CompanyThe Product Application Engineer is an integral part of the Wireless Business Unit. In this role, you will play a pivotal position bridging the company with our esteemed customers and users of the E/TM500 system, primarily international Mobile Network Equipment Manufacturers. Your daily interactions with customers and technical users of the TM500 system will involve providing expert advice on technical matters related to the system. Moreover, you will be instrumental in gathering crucial insights about the users’ environment, contributing to product enhancements and pre-sales opportunities.The ideal candidate will possess not only a robust technical understanding of 3GPP standards for User Equipment (UE) radio transmissions/reception in 4G/LTE and 5G but also exceptional customer communication skills. While prior experience in software development using C/C++ and Python is advantageous, it is not a strict requirement.Major ResponsibilitiesAs a Product Application Engineer, your responsibilities will encompass:

• Active participation in pre-sales activities such as Proof-of-concept, discussions on tender specifications, and other technical sales initiatives.
• Installing and commissioning new TM500/E500 systems and associated software.
• Conducting on-site customer training sessions.
• Carrying out interoperability testing of TM500/E500 with customer base stations.
• Diagnosing and troubleshooting customer technical issues.
• Collaborating closely with the Wireless Business Unit engineering team to resolve technical challenges.
• Cultivating and nurturing strong relationships with key customers.

Pre-Requisites & ExperienceTo excel in this role, candidates should meet the following prerequisites and have relevant experience:

• A minimum of 8+ years of experience working in a technical discipline, preferably within a cellular environment.
• Profound understanding of protocols for cellular systems in accordance with 3GPP standards, particularly as they relate to UE.
• In-depth comprehension of Layer 1, 2 (including MAC, RLC, PDCP, and SDAP sub-layers), and 3.
• Familiarity with O-RAN CUS & M Plane and CONF specifications.
• Self-motivated with a strong capacity for self-learning.
• Adaptability to work effectively with diverse groups of individuals.
• Ability to work independently.
• A robust and wide-ranging background in various networks and communication technologies.
• Previous experience in testing, whether for handsets or base stations.
• A university degree in electronics engineering, telecommunication engineering, or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferable.
• Capable of working autonomously while being a collaborative team player.
• Effective performance under pressure, consistently delivering high-quality work in a timely manner.
• Enthusiastic and adept at clear verbal and written communication, both in English and Chinese.
