The VP, Supply Chain Planning is a senior leadership position within the Supply Chain organization driving Synaptics’ Supply Chain initiatives and roadmap. The right candidate will be an expert in rolling out advanced supply chain initiatives and supply chain transformations in addition to managing the supply chain for products that are shipped to customer orders. You will champion transformation across the organization, removing inefficiencies and streamlining processes to leverage data in decision-making, driving business value, and helping the teams achieve company objectives. The successful candidate will be passionate about innovation and technology, with a pragmatic focus on executing and delivering solutions to the business. This position reports to the SVP Global Operations and be based in Taiwan.Millions of people experience Synaptics every day. Responsibilities
Job Duties
- Own the supply chain of all products from wafer starts to shipments
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to provide a safe, efficient, and service-oriented department
- Attain revenue for the corporation while managing inventories at lean levels
- Grow key relationships with senior management at foundries and assembly/test suppliers
- Develop weekly loading and provide long term forecasts with all suppliers
- Lead a worldwide team of planners: Provide leadership, mentorship, and coaching to your team that fosters a positive environment to problem solve, improve business practices and attract, engage and retain top talent
- Provide overall leadership to those engaged in capacity planning activities and drive continuous improvement
- Communicate and coordinate with business units, engineering, and sourcing teams and senior management by providing insightful analytics to support business decisions
- Actively participate in the senior leadership team to drive the overall operations and technology roadmap
- Optimize production flows and supply chain network, reducing cycle times and improving yields and achieving best in class delivery metrics
- Provide status update to Senior management: Develop operational metrics and insights to provide guidance to the operations and drive budgeting, business decisions and KPI’s
- Key business partner to provide financial recommendations on cost drivers, capacity utilization, margins and other metrics
- Aggregate demand forecasts and create infrastructure delivery roadmaps by region
- Able to build, create and maintain a high achieving supply chain that is responsive to business needs
- Experienced at working effectively across multiple levels of an organization and building successful cross functional partnerships
- Considered a respected leader by your peers, direct reports and executive management. Must be analytical and able to make informed decisions based on experience and sound instincts
- Effective communicator to both internal teams and externally with senior management at foundries and assembly/test suppliers
- Establishes clear expectations, sets objectives and brings multiple parties together to drive key initiatives
- Flexible and creative problem-solving skills
- Decisive and action oriented - Sets aggressive goals and delivers
- Proficient in using tools and reports to track progress and make timely course corrections
- Proven ability to lead and motivate teams: Achieves organizational focus on key priorities, provides clear direction, delegates, actively communicates and coaches; a committed mentor, people developer and team builder
- You know how to influence and lead through change and are motivated by the challenge of a fast-paced, high-growth global environment
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Minimum of 15+ years’ experience in procurement, sourcing, and supply chain (with a minimum of 7+ years in a senior management supply chain role leading teams) and a good network of relationships with semiconductor foundries and assembly/test suppliers
- Strong track record in optimizing supply chain networks and capacity models resulting in higher throughput and shorter cycle times
- Highly analytical with strong business acumen, able to transition easily between the strategic and the detailed
- Proven experience at successfully developing & strengthening management controls and operational processes
- A great teammate who is passionate about developing and being part of a high functioning team and company; demonstrated experience building a great team culture
- Ability to travel internationally up to 20%
