Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of experience with regulatory testing in both board level and system level for Wi-Fi and Bluetooth function from multiple chipsets (e.g., Broadcom, Qualcomm, etc.).
• Experience procuring industry certifications for technical devices such as BT SIG, WFA.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with the consumer electronics or similar (e.g., regulatory compliance, testing, and certifications).
• Experience with wireless technologies including WWAN (GSM/WCDMA/LTE/ 5G), NFC, UWB, GPS, etc.
• Experience with regulatory processes related to and launching mass-produced consumer electronics.
• Knowledge of rules and regulations related to RF exposure evaluation (e.g., SAR).
• Understanding of applicable regulatory standards in relation to our products and requirements to obtain global product certification.
• Ability to multitask, with excellent communication, organizational, and project/program management skills.
  
  

About The Job

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Radio Frequency (RF) Compliance team is responsible for certifying Google products for global RF regulations. Our team focuses on lab testing which includes FCC/CE/ISED/MIC/NCC/RCM RF, RF exposure, and HAC requirements. You will rely on the technical knowledge in wireless communication to effectively manage certification projects. We ensure the products meet the compliance from the launch to post market surveillance while optimize the performance and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead the certification efforts across development teams, testing labs, suppliers, and manufacturing partners.
• Ensure that Google Consumer Hardware products meet all applicable regulatory requirements, follow industry best practices and optimize the performance.
• Troubleshoot compliance issues, coordinating solutions with internal and external Engineering teams and partners/suppliers.
• Define certification test requirements and ensure testing reports are accurate, thorough, and properly accounted for in complete filing packages.
• Support product development and help shape Google’s best practices and processes certifying new products.
