About The Job

Google’s projects, like our users, span the globe and require managers to keep the big picture in focus while being able to dive into the unique engineering challenges we face daily. As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring that Google Consumer Hardware products meet all applicable regulatory requirements. You will work closely with Product Design Engineers, Electrical Engineers, Wireless Engineers, Manufacturing Partners, Supply Chain Operations, and Compliance Counsel. You will work in a fast-paced collaborative environment, with the teams to solve problems that gate product launches.

Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Only one thing consistently stands in the way between our users and the world’s information—hardware. Our Consumer Hardware team researches, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make our user’s interaction with computing faster, more powerful, and seamless. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, our Consumer Hardware team is making people’s lives better through technology.

  • Maintain agreements, purchase orders, and budgets for EPR partners, and track upcoming product launches to complete timely and accurate EPR reports for e-waste, packaging, and batteries in each geography.
  • Research and document product characteristics, such as weights, dimensions, and chemistry, applicable to batteries and packaging reporting requirements.
  • Prepare responses to government agency and/or recycling scheme audits and track new and emerging regulations to ensure no impacts on Google roadmap.
  • Communicate EPR compliance status and issues to Product Compliance team management, and work with the IT team to streamline and automate compliance processes.
