What You Will Do In Your Role

Primary Purpose

Responsible for varieties of thermal design and development of high-speed connectors and cable assemblies in networking, data communications and telecommunications areas. Leads the thermal design activities through collaboration with cross-function teams and following Molex product development processes.

Duties And Responsibilities

• Extensive thermal experience and knowledge from component and system level perspective.
• Deliver thermal simulation (Flotherm) and analysis of thermal design and concerns. Lead thermal team members and cooperate with cross-function teams to identify issue, risk, and mitigation plan. Provide cooling guidance and solutions with comprehensive considerations.
• Manage and perform thermal validation including air and liquid testing, air flow impedance measurement, troubleshooting, design optimization and SOP documentation.
• Execute thermal simulation and test with conscientious and logical plan. Review all reports and make sure the data is reasonable, accurate and reliable. Keep thermal report clean, clear and comfortable with high standard and quality.
• Ability to communicate thermal insights with both internal and external customer. Well negotiation skill for getting compromise with a workaround.
• Leverage thermal resource to address various requirement with prompt response. Ensure that all projects go smooth in parallel and meet schedule on time or earlier.
• Create and drive new thermal developments for the I/O Business Unit, seek innovative thermal solutions and new technology application.
• Fluent English communication skills for expressing and demonstrating complex technical concepts clearly and concisely. Great presentation ability for showing advanced and unique technology.
• Coach junior engineers. Cultivate their mindset and professional abilities in daily work. Build up team discipline and strategy to maximize team performance and facilitate working efficiency.
• Knowledge sharing in global thermal meeting. Discussion and brainstorming for promising design concept. Establish lesson learnt in terms of thermal, mechanical, EMI and SI perspective.
  

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements

EDUCATION

Required:Master or PhD degree in Mechanical Engineering / Thermal Engineering

Preferred:Thermal related domain

Work Related Experience

Required:At least 10 years working experience in thermal solution development.

Preferred:Thermal knowledge in liquid cooling, heatsink optimization and deep understanding of various cooling solutions.
