This position will be involved in
  • Designing for the light source and optical design in the LCM module
  • Providing technical support and verification for brightness, color and contrast of the LCM module
  • Conducting for optical simulation and experiments to ensure that the performance and quality of the module meet the design requirements
  • Cooperating with module design engineers, manufacturers, and other departments to ensure the final performance and quality of the product
  • Independently completing optical architecture design and optimization including the LCD module backlight LED schema design
  • Familiar with the design and manufacturing process of LED, Mini-LED and lamp strip, and reviewed the scheme design of chip, phosphor, lens, PCB and driver with L/B suppliers.
The successful candidate will be an energetic and assertive team player who can expertly executing multiple projects and thrive during rapid development cycles. They will possess the expertise and determination to ensure the project stays on target with respect to product design, quality, schedule, and cost goals from concept to delivery. They will be expected to participate in design reviews and workshops with vendors and partners which will involve mostly local and limited international travel. Travel will be about 15% - 20% in Asia region, including the Greater China region.What You’ll Be DoingRole and responsibilities include developing cost-effective and advanced LCD backlight display reference designs, evaluation different proof of concept prototypes.
  • Responsible for following up the analysis and solution of the failure of backlight LED in backlight design, verification, mass production and after-sales
  • Participate in TV related technology research, technical analysis and cost analysis of competing products and form summaries to improve ROKU’s product competitiveness
  • Participated in the company’s new technology planning, scheme implementation evaluation, etc., participated in the construction and implementation of the backlight development process and design standards
  • Follow up the technological development trend of Mini-LED industry, organize technical exchanges regularly, and maintain technological advancement
  • Cooperated with suppliers & ODM to achieve mass production of Mini LED optical design. Promote technology cost reduction scheme and design change management
  • Evaluation of backlight L/B cost down scheme for mass production models
We’re excited if you have
  • 8+ years of LED based LCD display TV system, with profession knowledge and hands-on design experience in TV LCD backlight module and experience with cost-sensitive, high-volume consumer electronic products
  • Proficient with optical design simulation methods and software, such as Lighttools, AutoCAD, and other design software
  • Possess the optimization ability of relevant advanced design and cost considerations
  • Familiar with LED, Mini-LED, optical film, optical plate, and other related knowledge
  • Good understanding of the architectural design pipeline from PSU to LED driver IC to LED
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of LED light packaging and all kinds of LED packaging materials, have a comprehensive understanding of the Mini-LED display industry optical standards
  • Familiar with the principle that MINI LED backlight driver has circuit driver and power driver
  • Have good experimental skills and experimental planning ability
  • Have good problem-solving and innovation skills
  • Have good English communication skills in both verbal and written capability
  • Bachelor’s degree or above, major in optics, optoelectronics, photoelectric, material science or similar engineer discipline with deep understanding of optical theory fundamentals, LED semiconductor devices
