Purpose

This position will be responsible for providing machinery support for operating plants and commissioning support for new plants in Air Products Sanfu, Taiwan.

Nature and Scope

· Responsible for all aspects of Machinery engineering design, installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, maintenance and optimizations of machinery in Taiwan. The machinery includes all types of compressors, expanders, blowers, gearboxes, cooling towers, and all types of pumps including cryogenic pumps.

· Provide machinery diagnostics services in troubleshooting and resolving machinery issues using vibration diagnostics tools and failure analysis techniques. This includes issuing failure analysis reports and cost effective recommendations for reliability improvements.

· Carry out compressor health and performance assessment and provide assessment reports to IG-Production teams on a monthly/quarterly basis depending on compressor business criticality and reliability.

· Lead in Equipment Condition Monitoring (ECM) in Taiwan. Use Process MD ( AP ECM Tool ) for ECM alert diagnostics and resolution. Use ECM to drive maintenance PM programs and reduce maintenance cost by focusing on conditioned-based overhauls and repairs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

· Identify, communicate, implement and maintain "best practices" and procedures

· Develop and implement initiatives to improve the safety, reliability, or efficiency of rotating equipment.

· Identify cost savings opportunities in spare parts by leveraging reverse engineering skills and experience to repair or make ourselves.

· Create solid relationships with major machinery suppliers in Taiwan. Insure the organization is keeping up with new machinery development and technology improvements.

· Participant in the installation and commissioning of large rotating and reciprocating equipment for new plants.

· Responsible for developing technical capabilities in the country maintenance organizations at the maintenance engineering level to allow for local support for large turbo-machinery overhauls.

· Develop, implement, and/or maintain effective predictive and preventive maintenance programs in Taiwan that are consistent across the global organization.

· Regularly evaluate effectiveness of maintenance programs and modify accordingly to insure optimum reliability and cost benefits are maintained as they relate to Taiwan.

· Continually work with Taiwan Maintenance Manager, Plant Managers to drive productivity and cost savings and enhancement through improved work process and equipment performance.

· Analyze data to reduce operating and maintenance costs related to machinery performance using sound technical engineering review of data and processes.

· Implement and manage engineering requirements to satisfy machinery selection, maintenance and reliability initiatives for maintenance teams that comply with Global GO initiatives and programs.

· Provide guidance to GEM on machinery equipment specification and local vendor qualifications for use in new plant designs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

· Possess a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from a recognized university.

· Five to ten years of experience in rotating equipment machinery engineering and maintenance. Having machinery design and application knowledge is advantageous.

· Technical knowledge and experience in design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of large rotating equipment [eg. centrifugal compressors, reciprocating compressors,] is useful.

· Familiar with American Petroleum Institute Standards pertaining machinery [ API610 – Centrifugal Pumps, API682 Mechanical Seals, API618 Reciprocating Compressor, API686 Machinery Installation.]

· Familiar with CGA-G4.7 Liquid Oxygen Pump, EIGA O2 Centrifugal Compressor and EIGA O2 Reciprocating Compressors.

· Experience in centrifugal compressor operation, maintenance and troubleshooting is essential.

· Experienced in rotating equipment installation, support start-up and lead machinery commissioning.
