onsemi is seeking a self-driven and motivated professional to join the Procurement Organization’s External Strategic Sourcing Team, located in Hsinchu, Taiwan. As a Manager - External Strategic Sourcing, you will have the opportunity to work with semiconductor backend partners to negotiate contracts and secure our external manufacturing service needs. You will work primarily with backend subcons, Business Units and operation managers to manage our Supplier Relationship and Management through supplier engagement, account relationship, contract and pricing negotiations and bridge between supplier and internal stakeholders.

Performance Objectives:

• Supplier management: Drive value-added business plan and sourcing strategies for backend subcons. Lead commercial interface, pricing and contract negotiation with key suppliers.
• Business unit support: Support commercial needs of business units as relating to commodities and suppliers
• Manage and develop RFQ, detailed analysis of proposals, vendor capabilities, negotiations, and supplier selection
• Drive supplier performance through KPI’s and action plans in key Procurement areas including Value add, Productivity, Delivery, Quality and Technology
• Project management: Drive and participate in project team to support strategic priorities of Growth, People and Execution
• Become market expert on commodities and technologies to support Global Strategic Sourcing
• Lead strategic selection and commercial management of key suppliers
• Work with external manufacturing operation, production planning and SCM team to ensure reliable capacity at competitive pricing to support strategic goals

Qualifications Requirements:

• 15+ years of experience in semiconductor industry working with backend subcons
• Strong negotiation skills critical thinking, great judgement and decision-making skills
• Technical experience in semiconductor assembly and test preferred
• Strong relationship building skills in both internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to handle significant multi-tasking requirements and prioritize key actions
• Action oriented with ability to deliver results on strategic initiatives
• Ability to prepare and effectively communicate strategy with multi-functional business partners (Technology, Quality, MFG, Supply Chain Planning/Ops)
• Communication Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
• Bachelor’s degree required
