Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 2 years of experience with display systems (e.g., display hardware LCD, OLED), color calibration, imaging) and optical measurements (e.g., photometric measurement).
  • Experience with optical measurement automation using spectroradiometers or spectrophotometers.
  • Experience in MATLAB/Python, C/C++.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
  • Experience with color or vision science engineering.
  • Excellent organizational and people management skills.

About The Job

In this role, you will be responsible for software, hardware optical performance testing of the Pixel devices (e.g., Phones, Tablets, and Foldables). This involves optical measurement (e.g., brightness, color, High Dynamic Range (HDR), and other software features by objective and subjective methods. You will also have responsibilities to conduct display benchmarking tests. You will work cross-functionally with Display Hardware and Software, Product Management, User Experience, and Android Platform Display teams.

Responsibilities

  • Measure the display color and image quality for Pixel products.
  • Evaluate display appearance of still image and video display pipeline components and User Interface (UI) content using objective and subjective metrics.
  • Generate display benchmarking report. Ensure interactive performance of display with ambient light sensing.
  • Collaborate with Software, Hardware, User Experience, and Product Management teams to reach productization of display components of the product line.
