Love buying and selling on Carousell? Then meet the team that handcrafts various parts of the mobile applications, website and backend systems in order to deliver the best user experience. Here at Carousell, our engineering team works on a myriad of problem domains. You get to work on building the simplest buying and selling experience on our mobile applications, dive deep into our database systems that powers the business, or even work on tools to empower the rest of the teams in Carousell.

Every month we have Tech Talk where we share different topics, ranging from product development to new technologies to keep our minds sharp.

Ensuring that the user experience stays simple is complicated - and we take pride in our work to keep things that way.

We want to offer you the opportunity to experience a variety of engineering domains. You will be part of Carousell Engineering team and get to learn new skills across different domains. It will be an exciting journey that you can onboard with our Engineering team and find new challenges and growth in the coming 6 months!

Internship Period: 6 months

Position

• Software Engineering Intern, Frontend *1
  

You Will

• Program well-designed, maintainable, testable and efficient code
• Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing systems
• Deploy programs and evaluate user feedback
• Participate in code reviews to maintain a high-quality code culture
  

You Have

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor or Master’s degree program
• Passion for writing software and learning the latest software development techniques
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Self-motivated with strong propensity for action, results and continuous improvement
• A solid foundation in computer science, with competencies in data structures, algorithms, and object-oriented software design
• Experience in either one or more of HTML, CSS, JavaScript and modern JavaScript libraries
  

Bonus Points

• Major in Computer Science or related field
• Excellent communication skill in English (speaking and writing)
