Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
• 1 year of experience with iOS application development.
• Experience in one of the following programming languages such as Java or C++.
• Experience with data structures/algorithms.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience in designing, building, and debugging mobile applications and distributed systems.
• Experience with Application Programming Interface (API) design.
• Experience working with cross-functional teams in a diverse team environment.
• Experience with iOS development and proficiency in Objective C or Swift programing language.

In this role, you will join the team of Engineers building the iOS Software Development Kit (SDK) for Google Home. You will collaborate with first- and third-party application developers to bring an engaging and inclusive home experience.

The Google Nest team focuses on hardware, software, and services for the home, ranging from Nest thermostats to Nest smart displays. The Google Nest team develops, designs, and develops new technologies and hardware to make users’ homes more helpful. Our mission is the helpful home: to create a home that cares for the people inside it and the world around it.

Responsibilities

• Design and align SDK Application Programming Interface (API) across Nest.
• Build and expand Smart Home Mesh SDK and features, utilizing various underlying connectivity technologies such as Usonia and Matter.
• Design and develop Smart Home Mesh solutions to make Nest devices and third-party ecosystems work better together.
