Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5 years of industry experience developing, planning and executing power solutions for low power electronics.
• Experience with mobile phone architecture.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• 10 years of experience working in fast-moving environments.
• Experience in power supply design, and debugging devices using low-level software, JTAG, UART, etc.
• Experience in PMIC design , electrical design of consumer devices from prototype to mass production, product performance optimization (peak power management), or battery life optimization.
• Knowledge of DC-DC power conversion topologies, PMIC architecture and PCB layout, and SOC power delivery concepts: DVFS, PDN, typical power tree structure, etc.
• Understanding of product thermals, IC and product packaging issues/limitations.
• Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to guide critical system decisions.
  
  

About The Job

As a Power System Architect, you will develop from the lowest levels of circuit design to large system design and see those systems all the way through to high volume manufacturing. You will work cross-functionally with silicon, systems, Software, Technology teams, and Product teams to deliver optimized power and analog systems solutions at a system level for the next generation of Google consumer devices.

The Google Pixel team focuses on designing and delivering the world’s most helpful mobile experience. The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement system power solutions guided by data-driven to optimize system parameters such as efficiency, size and cost.
• Work with other hardware engineers to analyze power tree architecture and component selection trade-offs. Work cross-functionally across the organization to drive solutions.
• Communicate with leading power vendors and track industry trends. Collaborate and influence these partners to obtain robust solutions/features for Pixel hardware.
• Design and implement proof of concept power solutions to set next generation designs. Author and complete verification test protocols for these with support from vendor and internal test teams.
• Build debug/test hardware and/or models that allow effective characterization of proposed power solutions.
