NPI Product Engineer - Assembly

About The Job

It’s an exciting time to join Nordic Semiconductor as we continue our rapid growth while perusing high ambitions with dedicated colleagues worldwide. We are looking for a key member to the Product Engineering team to represent the company’s center of excellence on semiconductor assembly technology. The job involves identification and assessment of relevant new assembly technologies, supervision of new product package evaluations, as well as ensuring smooth NPI in terms of product quality, yield, cost, and cycle time. Success in this role will require your extensive ability to communicate and ensure productive collaboration between different internal departments as well as assembly subcons

Key Responsibilities

• Represent the company as focal contact point for assembly related technical discussions
• Liaise among subcons, R&D and project management to provide support for new technology adoption to meet NPI performance requirement
• Pros and Cons assessment of new package types and materials in terms of cost/performance/reliability, procedure setup for new technology/material assessment
• Lead assembly process optimization programs to meet performance/yield requirement
• Support qualification of assembly subcon related process changes, qualification of new subcons
• Provide company internal training on semiconductor assembly
  
  

Qualifications And Skills

• B.S. or MSc degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Material Science, Physics or Chemistry or similar
• 8+ years’ experience in R&D/manufacturing IC Package development, specialized in QFN/WLCSP/SiP package process integration
• Experience with statistical data analysis
• Background knowledge of package, CMOS BEOL silicon process integration and testing
• Experience in interfacing with foundries, bumping lines is a plus
• Written and verbal communication skills in English
