This is an outstanding opportunity to lead the British Primary Section (BPS) of the Taipei European School (TES) at the Swire European Primary Campus in a northern suburb of the city of Taipei, Taiwan. TES is a unique school offering British, German and French curricula through Primary with certain integrated classes, for instance in Chinese. The Secondary Sections are based in the Swire European Secondary Campus where there is a well-established IB Diploma programme, as well as the French Baccalaureate, and the IB Middle Years Programme has recently been initiated.The BPS has a student enrolment of around 650 students from Early Years through Primary (3 to 11 year olds) with over 50 different nationalities and we are searching for a leading practitioner with significant senior leadership experience to inspire and work with approximately 120 educational and support staff.The curriculum of the BPS is based on an enhanced National Curriculum for England and Wales and there has been a recent focus to integrate learning technologies within the classroom, with a 11 iPad scheme for Years 3 to 6.The Head of BPS will report directly to the Chief Executive Officer of TES and will work with the Heads and staff of the French and German Sections, in order to create a harmonious collaborative approach to students’ learning and activities at the EPC. The Head of BPS is also a key member of the whole school Leadership Team, led by the CEO, and including the Head British Secondary and High School, French and German Heads, as well as senior administration staff. - Evidence of training and qualifications in school leadership and management
- Significant experience of senior leadership, ideally in an international school environment.
- Knowledge of international and British Primary education systems and curricula, their delivery, and assessment
- An understanding of the budgetary process and financial management within a school
- Understanding of the principles of organisational culture and behavior
- Evidence of success in building, leading, motivating and developing teams and individuals; and managing performance
- Knowledge of instructional supervision and evaluation
- Awareness of the current issues and trends in education
- Experience of successfully leading in an accredited school and maintaining the required standards
- Experience of managing delegated organisational budgets
- Track record of successfully engaging with others in a diverse community, building positive and productive working relationships
- Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience of dealing with these issues.

- Excellent interpersonal skills; able to relate well with parents, students, and staff
- A high degree of personal and professional integrity
