Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3 years of experience with factory test station through New Product Introduction (NPI) to Mass Production (MP) in the Electrical Engineering or RF field.
• Experience working with manufacturing partners and customer manufacturing processes.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 30%.
  
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience of coding in Python, MATLAB, Java, and C++.
• Experience with test stations bringing-up including Gauge R&R/Correlation.
• Experience with Motherboard (SMT) testing and fully-assembled system testing.
• Experience with database queries and statistical analysis.
• Excellent communication, project management, and leadership skills.
  
  

About The Job

Google’s custom-designed machines make up one of the largest and most powerful computing infrastructures in the world. The Hardware Testing Engineering team ensures that this cutting-edge equipment is reliable. In the R&D lab, you design test equipment for prototypes of our machinery and develop the protocols used to scale these tests for the entire global team. Working closely with design engineers, you give input on designs to improve our hardware until you’re sure it meets Google’s standards of quality and reliability.

With your technical expertise, you create test plans for highly complex platforms (e.g., validating the interaction of multiple pieces of equipment at the networking and subsystem levels), and using your deep knowledge of component design characteristics, you diagnose highly complex hardware or software issues.

Our mission is to provide professional judgment of the product’s function and performance to the System Reliability Engineer for Failure Analysis (FA) process. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver validated test data.

Responsibilities

• Bring-up test station at contract manufacturers (CM) and oversee test-related issues.
• Determine and analyze the test results in time of failure.
• Collaborate with Test Engineer and Hardware Designer in test coverage and alignment of test items/parameters.
• Work with CM to ensure high-quality and accuracy test data output.
• Manage CM to perform test station maintenance.
