Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3 years of experience in development, testing, and deployment for Android board support packages or drivers.
  • Experience with Linux kernel or device driver development.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5 years of experience in development, testing and deployment for Android Board Support Packages (BSP).
  • Experience in kernel development, power management, performance tuning, display driver/HAL, touch driver/HAL, or peripheral drivers on Android systems.
  • Experience working with hardware designers/reading schematics.
  • Ability to speak and write in English and Mandarin fluently.
  • Excellent technical documentation skills.

About The Job

In this role, you will handle information at a massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. You will work on projects critical to Google with opportunities to grow and evolve. You will design and build premium wearable devices and services that are truly aspirational and showcase the potential of the Android and WearOS platform. You will develop the whole software stack for future smarter wearable devices, ranging from cutting-edge SoC bring-up all the way up to the platform for system software and firmware engineers to join the growing wearable system software team to help architecting, developing, testing and deploying complex wearable consumer devices.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Develop the system software for Google wearable devices.
  • Work on System on a Chip (SoC) to perform low-level system integration and driver development.
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain the display/touch driver on Google WearOS devices and improve software quality.
  • Develop validation tools and test cases to verify hardware/software functionality.
  • Develop the display/touch system stability, power and performance.
