Equipment Engineer

Job Description:

The Equipment Engineer candidate must be able to operate in a changing environment due to multiple technical requests from RD d Business teams. The candidate will meet aggressive, yet attainable goals and objectives to maintain and improve cleanroom equipment, improve cost structure in the cleanroom, evaluate and implement equipment upgrades, and develop robust and consistent equipment statistical process control (SPC). This position will support the business by ensuring the equipment is effective for the development of our products while maintaining high availability.

In this role you will:
  • Help drive Root Cause/Corrective Action effort for tool related issues originating from within cleanroom operations.
  • Maintain and analyze SPC charts and reports for the cleanroom.
  • Lead all upgrade and capital projects within the cleanroom.
  • Interface with the development teams to determine needs and outline strategic plans for improving the cleanroom.
  • Create and document new processes. Provide and coordinate training of any new processes pertaining to the cleanroom and upload to public folder (Qualtrax, Lims)
  • Partner with CR technicians to implement improvements.
  • Provide engineering support for the introduction/qualification of new supplier products/consumables used in the cleanroom.
  • Proactively identify and eliminate sources of variation to improve process quality and consistency.
  • Identify and work on projects to improve the cleanroom cost structure.
  • Possess a willingness and ability to readily perform hands-on maintenance
  • Identify and implement improvements in environmental, health, and safety areas.
Traits we believe make a strong candidate:
  • B.S. degree required in the Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or related field. Additional course work towards an advanced degree is preferred.
  • English ability (Fluent English speaking, writing, listening)
  • Minimum five years related work experience. Preferred: Experience in cross-functional teams, with demonstrated effectiveness, as well as experience with Quality Systems, Process control systems.
  • Knowledge of AMAT, Ebara polishers as well as Ontrak scrubbers is a plus, but not required. A strong knowledge and background in statistics and process control methodologies in SPC is required. A critical thinker and confident problem solver with expertise in FMEA(Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)-like skill-sets and troubleshooting experience. Six-sigma experience a plus.
  • Good listening and persuasion skills with the ability to drive / effect change through balance of influence and authority. Flexible and attentive to detail. Good technical and business judgment. Willingness to balance technical decisions with proven ability to be creative, innovative and ‘think outside the box.’ Effective communicator and team player.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills. Able to work collaboratively with teams across R & D and Business Teams to build relationships, and drive activity to meet company business needs. Ability to assist in organizing teams focused on specific projects/goals. Planning, prioritizing, goal settings and project management skills. Good written and oral communication skills.
  • Proficient PC skills. Experienced with databases and Microsoft Applications. Comfortable with multiple data acquisition systems. Preferred – Experienced with statistical software packages such as Minitab, or JMP Analytics.
