English Technical Writer (1 Year Contractor)

Overview

Do you love to write? Are you also into technology? Do you get joy out of helping others overcome difficulties? Then you could be a foundational member of a fast growing Department within the ViewSonic Software Growth Team.

As our Software Specialist/Tech Writer, you will be the bridge between our software team and our userbase by providing guidance and training, developing articles, as well as writing our English software documentation to update the over 3 Million users of our myViewBoard Software Suite. You will work closely with our Marketing team, Product Management team, and regional support teams developing strategies, content, and best practices on how to best educate current and future users of our services.

If you’re a native English writer with a passion for writing, education, tech, and building a project from zero to launch, then this could be your calling!

Responsibilities

•Translate product quick start guides, user guides, and social media contents.

•Transfer technical specification, technology to end user and marketing languages.

•Support to proofread and edit English text that is used in marketing collateral, including headlines, slogans, product description, specification, and other materials.

•Support content creation for social marketing.

•Willing to work in Taiwan for at least 2 years.

Qualifications

• English native speaker is a must.

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, business related field.

• 3+ years experience working in a IT field or has technical background.

• Excellent verbal and written, interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.

• Experience working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment efficiently yet accurately.

• Ability to manage priorities and workflow effectively.

• Attention to detail.

• Knowledge and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience producing text for print and digital media.

• Ability to build relationships and work across a multi product-line organization.

• Ability to multitask and utilize resources to execute tasks within a deadline-oriented environment.

• Highly motivated and high level of initiative; inspires confidence to work independently and in support of department goals and business objectives.
