PRIMARY PURPOSE:

•Lead to address and resolve all mechanical related barriers in designing in Molex connectors, cables and solutions into customers programs.

•Assist Product/Marketing Manager on mechanical competitive analysis, customers system and applications so as to identify gaps and strengthen opportunity pipeline to achieve higher revenue/profit growth.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

•Lead Molex sales engineers and work closely with customers’ engineers (development/process/reliability etc) in resolving any mechanical design in and/or application issues of high-speed copper connectors and cables solutions.

•Train Molex sales engineers in Copper Solutions for high-speed applications pertaining to mechanical performance.

•Lead in communication with internal design engineers/product managers and with customers in mechanical reviews.

•Make recommendations for improvement of interconnect systems and solutions, resolving customers potential or current mechanical application issues.

•Assist Product/Marketing Manager in providing insightful information on competition solutions reviews, customer systems and processes.

•Develop supporting documents / application notes for customers

SCOPE:

This job supports designing in of Molex Copper Solution BU products into customers in Asia Pacific regions.

EDUCATION:

REQUIRED:

•Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) or Bachelor of Science (Physics)

PREFERRED:

•Master’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Precision)

WORK EXPERIENCE:

REQUIRED:

•Min 5 yrs relevant work-related experience in electronic industry

PREFERRED:

•Experience in manufacturing processes, area of designing, qualifying and/or other application supports in high-speed electrical solutions.

SKILLS & ABILITIES:

REQUIRED:

•Strong ability to communication well with customers and internal stakeholders in English and in local languages.

•Excellent team player.

•Detailed in problem analysis and solving.

•Good understanding of various connectors/cables/solutions manufacturing processes esp in Surface Mount Technology (SMT)processes.

•Understand of statistical approach in problem resolving, SPC and other quality tools

•Good understand Computer Aided Design (CAD) and Computer Aided Engineering (CAE) tools.

•Experienced in using inspection machines and other mechanical and reliability equipment.

PREFERRED:

•Understanding of high-speed connector solution applications and processes esp in SMT and press fit processes.

•Experience in high-speed telecom/datacom/server industries.
