  • Experience developing effective technical relationships with contract manufacturers, suppliers, and technical engineering teams.
  • Experience with electro-mechanical assembly, integration, and test system bring-up.
  • Experience with product 3D CAD modeling tools (i.e., SolidWorks or ProEngineer).

About The Job

Your team is responsible for providing the manufacturing capability to deliver this state-of-the-art physical infrastructure. As a Manufacturing Engineer, you evaluate the product designs and create the processes, tools and procedures behind Google’s powerful search technology. When vendors build parts for our infrastructure, you’re right there alongside ensuring manufacturing processes are repeatable and controlled. You collaborate with Commodity Managers and Design Engineers to determine Google’s infrastructure needs and product specifications. Your work ensures the various pieces of Google’s infrastructure fit together perfectly and keep our systems humming along smoothly for a seamless user experience.

As a Central Test Manufacturing Engineer, you will work on new product factory test development and bring-up, development, operation and troubleshooting of factory test systems, test flow planning, and build-out. In this role, you will coordinate the implementation of test hardware and operating procedures, analyze results, and recommend changes regarding system design and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Work on test system development for testing Google Hardware consumer electronics products.
  • Perform design for manufacturability, assembly, test analysis, and design for cost (DFC) analysis for factory test platforms.
  • Perform test system bring-up, design validation, design of experiments, debug/troubleshooting, and failure analysis investigation work.
  • Use CAD tools, Perform Tolerance Analysis, Interface with vendors, and qualify strategic partners.
  • Travel to manufacturing locations to ensure processes, bring-up, and specifications are being met correctly on site.
