You will be the focal point for Macallan knowledge and expertise in the market.You will play a key role in brand building through driving conviction, brand trust, and prestige imaging among consumers, key trade and media to facilitate conversion. The position reports to the Marketing Director with a focus on hosting of whisky presentations, whisky immersion / tasting programmes, and passing brand knowledge of trade staff and consumers, new product introductions and market developments. You are the advocate of The Macallan within your market, collect intelligence conducive of brand building and report consumer feedback directly to the brand management team in the market. Furthermore, you will identify and help the team execute exceptional events in your markets to recruit new Macallan enthusiasts.Job Description- A spokesperson and driver of The Macallan in the market.
- Conduct whisky training and consumer tasting programmes in the market.
- Being the interface between consumers and The Macallan brand across social media.
- Develop owned channel and programme of social media initiatives to drive awareness and engagement
- Training staff, customers, and on and off trade ensuring their knowledge of our range is up to date and that they have a basic understanding of how The Macallan performs in the market.
- Working with the brand team members under aligned direction to develop and implement a range of brand communications tools in connection with brand-consumer interface that are in line with brand messages and objectives.
- Build effective and long-term relationships with luxury outlets and on-trade accounts
- Supporting Sales and Marketing teams with strategically important product launches/activations.
- Host brand, partnership and collaboration events driving the brand story and DNA
- Deploying and amplifying The Macallan serve strategy with relevance to Taiwan.
- Working with the team to host inspiring events for trade, whisky enthusiasts, and high net worth individuals.
- Being one of the voices of the brand across social media in Taiwan , working with team to build a social media profile followed by influencers across the world amplifying all your activities.
- Play a role and work with team to tracking the results from training and tasting events and report monthly on qualitative and quantitative take outs.
- Working with CRM and PCRM for building a database of key influencer and end-consumer contacts to ensure we are talking to them directly to help grow PCRM business in long run.
- Qualitative requirements pertinent to brand presentation include:
- Deliver messages with credibility and authority.
- Translate global on-trade trends for local inspiration.
- Lead Taiwan Band Ambassador team and provide consultation to the BA community
- Work with APAC BA community to adapt global content to make it locally relevant to targeted consumers .
- Being on point in style and substance.
- A background in the drinks industry and strong understanding of hospitality and luxury consumer goods.
- Demonstrable technical knowledge of whisky and sensory assessment in spirits with fluency in English
- Excellent knowledge of whisky as a category, especially single malt, with a fiery passion for The Macallan
- Excellent presentation skills and a strong ability to communicate and tailor messaging with different audiences.
- A passion for engaging people in a meaningful way and a flare for storytelling.
- Strong resilience and expert influencing skills.
- An innate ability to communicate with all types of consumers, from ultra-high net worth individuals to new consumers.
- Strong understanding of social media channels.
- An entrepreneurial skill set as an organised self-starter with attention to detail.
- Able to build strong and effective relationships with consumers at all levels, on and off trade in professional manner
- Fluency in English and Mandarin.
- A reasonably good network in trade/media/HNWI and other international connections that will be conducive for local brand building.
- With working knowledge on wines and spirits in general to demonstrate cross category understanding and draw examples to drive belief, credibility and conviction.
- Trend awareness or experience, industry trends, consumer behaviours in the world’s most influential bars and/or successfully completed bartending courses.
- Experience as a trainer.
- Excellent writing skills.
- An ability and willingness to learn and adapt to local culture.
