Your JobMolex is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Thermal Assistant Engineer to join our team as a contractor within our Copper Solutions Business Unit. As a Thermal Assistant Engineer, you will be responsible for assisting in thermal testing and analysis of various components and systems to ensure their optimal performance and reliability. This is a great opportunity for someone who is passionate about thermal management and eager to gain hands-on experience in a laboratory setting. While prior experience is preferred, we welcome candidates who are willing to learn and grow in this role. This is a contract-based position with the possibility of extension based on project needs and performance.Our TeamWhat You Will Do
  • Assist in conducting thermal testing and characterization of electronic components, modules, and thermal modules under the guidance of senior engineers or supervisors.
  • , liquid cooling tester, data loggers, and thermocouples.
  • Collect and record accurate data during thermal tests, ensuring adherence to testing protocols and procedures.
  • Assist in analyzing and interpreting test results, identifying any anomalies or issues that may affect thermal performance.
  • Help maintain the cleanliness, organization, and calibration of the thermal lab equipment to ensure accurate and reliable measurements.
  • Collaborate with the engineering team to assist in the design and development of test setups and fixtures for thermal testing purposes.
  • Aid in generating clear and concise test reports, documenting test procedures, results, and any recommendations for design improvements.
  • Support troubleshooting efforts and assist in resolving any technical issues related to thermal testing equipment or processes.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, standards, and best practices in thermal management to contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment within the thermal lab.
Who You Are (Basic Qualifications)
    • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
    • A Master’s degree is preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of thermal management principles, heat transfer mechanisms, and thermal measurement techniques.
    • Proficiency in using thermal testing equipment such as environmental chambers, thermal imagers, data loggers, and thermocouples.
    • Experience with thermal modeling and simulation software (e.g., ANSYS, Flotherm).
    • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations related to thermal management and testing (e.g., JEDEC, ASHRAE).

  • Skills and Abilities:
    • Proven experience as a Thermal Lab Engineer or a similar role, ideally in a product development or research environment.
    • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team.
    • Self-motivated and able to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements and deadlines.
    • Prior experience working as a contractor or in a project-based environment is a plus.

What Will Put You Ahead
  • Experience verifying transceiver, high-speed interconnects products, IC components, or networking components.
  • Able to use Siemens NX or Ansys software to review 3D drawing.
  • Ability to prioritize, problem solve, as well as develop and meet project schedules.
  • Team player who can work independently when needed.
