About The Job

Google engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. As a member of an extraordinarily creative, motivated and talented team, you develop new products that are used by millions of people. We need our engineers to be versatile and passionate to take on new problems as we continue to push technology forward. If you get excited about building new things and working across discipline lines, then our team might be your next career step.

As an Antenna Design Engineer, you will be part of our hardware design team building Pixel products. In this role, you will design, optimize, and validate the antenna solution across different wireless communication technologies (e.g., 2G/3G/4G, WiFi/Bluetooth, etc.). You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a cross-functional team to design and manufacture industrial leading hardware products.

Google’s mission is to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Our Devices & Services team combines the best of Google AI, Software, and Hardware to create radically helpful experiences for users. We research, design, and develop new technologies and hardware to make our user’s interaction with computing faster, seamless, and more powerful. Whether finding new ways to capture and sense the world around us, advancing form factors, or improving interaction methods, the Devices & Services team is making people’s lives better through technology.

Responsibilities

  • Design, optimize, and validate the antenna solutions including Cellular (2G/3G/4G), WiFi/Bluetooth, GNSS, and UWB for Pixel products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams during product development and execution and conduct/analyze over-the-air (OTA) testing to evaluate product radiated performance.
  • Work with vendors/Original Device Manufacturer (ODM) to co-develop and validate antenna technology and materials to meet product performance specifications.
  • Manage antenna related certification and compliance issues.
  • Design for high volume production and capable of supporting contracted manufacturers from prototype stage to mass production including defining factory test plan and pass/fail limits, leading correlation study, reviewing/approving production test data, leading antenna failure analysis, and making decisions to unblock builds with desired antenna performance.
