The Aerospace (Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space) Business Development Director is responsible to identify and develop relationship with Taiwan’s key potential customers in his/her area of interest and of strategic importance to Thales. He/she owns the total relationship with those accounts and its related target order intake, responsible for identifying and prioritizing all opportunities from those accounts and managing other sales pipeline opportunities as and when required.
To support the development of Thales in the field of aerospace in Taiwan, the Business Development Director is also responsible for promoting Thales to key stakeholders within Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space domains. The Business Development Director is also in charge of identifying local partners and build cooperation scheme.
The position is based in Taipei Neihu office.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor and conduct market analysis in Aerospace (Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space) Business domains.
- Identify, target, negotiate, and win new engagement and business development opportunities within the Government, Aerospace (Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space) activities.
- Identify Industrial/Commercial partnerships when required and build cooperation.
- Lead, support and manage to the other Aerospace (Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space) Business Domain colleague(s) in the company.
- Provide all necessary information on market analysis, competition, business risk and opportunities. Monitor and update GCRM data in coordination with Exporting units.
- Sales strategy development and achieve annual growth in sales revenue, and provide timely and accurate feedback for orders forecast.
- Support the Bids team to respond to calls for tenders and to develop, prepare, and present bid proposals to customers and negotiate legal contracts to cover such.
- Provide Business Development Plan with identified priorities and market potential.
- Work collaboratively with Bid Managers, Portfolio Managers and Product teams to build value-creating offerings for customers.
- Demonstrate knowledge of the entire Aerospace (Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space) domain to enable opportunity identification across all business lines.
- Develop strong working relationships with other Thales entities.
- Within jobs domain pursuing Key Account identification, customer relationship development, growth and management.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationship management through regular contact with customers and influencers.
- Other duties may arise from time to time and may be assigned to the Employee.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Business and/or experience in military with operational, Technical or Planning leading role
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in Business Development, Bids or Sales.
- Strong background in Aerospace (Civil Aviation, Airlines and Space) domain and knowledge of Business (Technical and Operational) in the stipulated domains
- Significant experience in complex business approach and services
- Ability to operate in Asian environment
- Experience with Thales Bidding process will be an added advantage.
- Strong proficiency in Mandarin is mandatory. Fluency in English (written and verbal) is necessary
- Flexible and able to adapt quickly to a dynamic environment
- High sensitivity to customer needs and expectations
- Ability to listen, communicate and interact with key decision makers & officials
- Has strategic vision and operational skills to be able to influence solutions
- Ability to share knowledge and a strong team player
- Adhere to the highest standards of conduct and ethics.
