Role description
As the Head of Electrical Systems and Onshore Substations for our offshore wind farms in Taiwan, you will be crucial in overseeing all aspects of the electrical systems and the onshore substations. You will lead the electrical systems’ operation and maintenance to ensure optimal performance. You’ll also manage our onshore substations, facilitating efficient power distribution from our offshore wind farm to the grid.
More specifically, your areas of responsibility will be:
- Drive high electrical safety standards in high voltage systems, fostering a safety-first culture.
- Lead Operations and Maintenance for offshore wind farm electrical systems and onshore substations.
- Define/implement operations and maintenance strategy for Transmissions Assets and Balance of Plant HV/LV Electrical Equipment, including improvements, planning, and execution.
- Inspect equipment, and manage maintenance providers.
- Liaise with stakeholders, and ensure compliance with safety/environmental requirements.
- Monitor/analyse performance, and make upgrades for efficiency/reliability.
- Manage to generate assets and handle emergencies/maintenance.
- Identify/mitigate risks in electrical systems/substations.
- Evaluate proposals, build relationships with contractors, and close out defects.
- Perform reporting, analyse technical issues, support inspections/reviews.
Head of Electrical Systems and Onshore Substations
As our Head of Electrical Systems and Onshore Substations, you are proactive, ambitious, entrepreneurial and solution-oriented. Therefore, you should ideally possess the following:
- Have a bachelor, masters or equivalent degree or above in electrical, mechanical or nuclear engineering or related to electrical engineering or passed the highest grade or second-grade special examination or the third-grade special examination or above on electrical, mechanical or nuclear engineering and other subjects.
- At least one year engaged in Electricity generation for power supply capacity over 100MW; or
- At least two years engaged in Electricity generation for a power supply capacity of 20MW~100MW; or
- More than five years engaged in Electricity generation for power supply capacity of 5MW~20MW
- Extensive O&M experience in Electrical Transmission.
- Proficient in managing Electrical Safety Rules systems/control of hazardous energy.
- Skilled communicator and relationship builder.
- Knowledgeable in quality standards, best practices, and regulations relevant to Taiwan’s electrical network/
- Tenacious, organised, and process-driven.
- Independent, IT literate (Microsoft Office, SharePoint).
- Effective verbal/written communication.
- Experienced in critical HSE environments.
- Excellent Mandarin/English language skills (C1 minimum)
- Takes ownership and shows responsibility.
- Respects cross-cultural differences.
The perfect candidate has relevant experience in Offshore Wind, Construction or Maritime industry.
