Job Title: Global Head of QualityLocation: Taiwan
Reports to: COO
Position Summary
The Senior Director of Quality is responsible for quality assurance, quality control and production analytics for our client’s Advanced Materials organization globally.
This role focuses on quality culture and performance of existing facilities while also ensuring and enabling growth of the business through support of new products. The Quality Head works with all functions including engineering, product management, sales, R&D and operations to ensure the customer quality requirements and expectations are understood and met. This role provides technical quality expertise and leadership across the business.
Responsibilities include the ownership of the work processes, management systems and operating discipline associated with the areas of responsibility and the implementation and continuous improvement of them across the global business.
This role reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer and is responsible for five US locations as well as sites in Korea, Singapore, Japan and France. Additional Asia region expansion is expected. Direct reports are located in the US and Asia (and potentially in Europe).
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Define and implement global quality strategy and organization
- Manage the QA/QC organization, primarily through managers and senior managers
- Responsible for overall implementation and improvements in quality management systems to meet internal, customer and industry expectations, including ISO 9001 requirements
- Drive quality incident free culture, supplier quality, improved metrology, excursion reduction, change control and change management
- Drive the global organization to diligently prevent quality incidents and to react quickly and efficiently in case of incident, including a fast and transparent communication with customers
- Develop and implement improvements globally in quality assurance and quality control areas.
- Manage interface with customer quality organizations and internal affiliates to ensure customer expectations are being understood and met or exceeded
- Partner with Product Management and Sales to develop and implement appropriate improvements to satisfy customer needs and meet business financial objectives
- Lead establishment of analytical and quality control capital project expenditure multi-year plans
- Drive analytical advancement technology improvements and implementation.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement of product inspection hardware and software to align or be ahead of customer expectations.
- Manage supplier quality performance and work with supply chain/purchasing organization to drive supplier quality improvements
- Establish and implement metrics (process capability, control charts, measurement quality, etc.) for monitoring systems effectiveness and promotion of effective managerial decision making and continuous improvement activities
- Ensure global consistency of quality best practices and standards
- Maintain consistent methods for collection and analysis of statistical data to predict trends important to product quality.
- Own, implement and improve SPC and SQC processes and systems across
- Work to further continuous improvement culture by support of continuous improvement teams and resources

Required Qualifications::
- Minimum of Bachelor’s degree in a Science or Technical based field. Chemical Engineering preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of Quality Assurance managerial experience
- Experience working with highly hazardous chemicals including toxic, flammable, pyrophoric in a global environment
- Experience working in the semiconductor industry and strong understanding of the quality requirements of that industry
- Broad knowledge of statistics and statistical process control
- Experience designing and implementing quality systems (e.g. ISO)
- Experience implementing or using LIMS and ERP systems
- Diverse knowledge of inspection and control methods, techniques and documentation
- Experience leading quality professionals
- Experience identifying improvements in work processes, management systems and implementing them successfully
- Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to multitask
- Accountable behavior, follows up on his/her commitments, negotiates delays effectively and proactively.
- Ability to communicate concisely and effectively in written and verbal formats with stakeholders at multiple levels in the business.
- Ability to interact successfully across all levels of the organization, from technicians to the C-suite
- Ability to work and travel globally
- Fluent in English
- Experience working in dynamic environments of short time to market and high customer expectations.
- Experience working in a global/international company/context
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification or equivalent knowledge
