Overview

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Student Service Assistant to join our dynamic Student Services Team in our Secondary and High school campus. The Student Services Assistant will provide and maintain professional, safe, and high quality student services to our community. The person should admin and assist the Transportation and Cafeteria services and assist Student Services Supervisor in ensuring the stable, safe and efficient operation. This is a Temporary Full-Time, Fixed Term Contract role commencing ASAP to 21 June 2024.

Responsibilities

Transportation and Cafeteria Administration

  • Assisting with general organisational and administrative duties in Student Services Department mainly in the Transportation and Cafeteria departments
  • Handle enquiries from parents, students and staff about bus and Cafeteria related questions or inquiries and report issues to the Transportation Officer
  • Ensure all students conform with TES’ bus regulations, including the wearing of safety belts before departure;
  • Supervise cafeteria operations during lunchtime, and maintaining an orderly environment in the cafeterias at this time of day
  • Ensuring correct billing to AOS/COS
  • Liaising with the Student Services Supervisor to ensure appropriate quantities of food are ordered and other kitchen affairs are well managed
  • Assisting other members of the Student Services Department when necessary
  • Communicates with parents on the operation arrangement and inquiries including clarifying bus route and schedule, Activities Order System (AOS) and school lunch related questions
  • Confirms / clarify transport and cafeteria arrangements as is required with students, section staff, the relevant department supervisor and bus monitors
  • Monitors the performance of the part-time kitchen staff and reports back to the Student Services Supervisor on aspects of their work that need addressing

Student Services projects or other assignments

  • Job rotation within the team as to the CCA Program function
  • Support team members to resolve problems and issues with other departments and parents
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by the ESC Student Services Supervisor or Student Services Manager

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of nurse working experience.
  • Evidence of multi-cultural experience and cultural competency
  • Excellent communication skills and experience working in an environment with a wide variety of people in a personable, professional and confidential manner.
  • Demonstrated administration experience with possession of intermediate level computer and document management skills.
  • Experience in administration or student services/support in a Higher Education environment is desirable.
