Minimum qualifications:

Preferred qualifications:

  • 7 years of experience in carrier certification, including expertise in RF, protocol, field testing, and program management for certification.
  • Experience in certification at the system level from RF performance to protocol and IP/IMS layers, with ability to enable technical discussions with customer SMEs in all these areas.
  • Experience troubleshooting issues occurring in certification, perform log analysis for chipset for 5G, 4G LTE, etc., and with test equipment log analysis.
  • Working knowledge of carrier certification processes for major US/Japan carriers.
  • Knowledge of standards, testing, and certification protocols and RF requirements for wireless products.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

The Pixel Carrier Certification team is responsible for certifying Pixel products for all carriers. Our team focuses on lab testing which includes GCF/PTCRB, carrier specific testing, and industry certification such as BT and NFC. In this role, you will rely on their technical knowledge in wireless communication to effectively manage certification projects for all Pixel devices.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the in-market projects for all major US carriers for smartphones and other cellular capable wireless devices. Drive third-party labs to ensure top quality and on-time delivery of the certification deliverables.
  • Support multiple simultaneous projects, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve the reported issues.
  • Work with Technical Account Management to discuss test scope and certification requirements with the carrier customer. Act as internal SME for wearable product certification for major carriers in North America and other regions.
  • Manage communication of technical issues within the team and cross-functions, and escalate issues as necessary.
  • Plan and schedule major/minor project deliverables, triaging and prioritizing testing tasks, getting cross-functional support, and escalating as required.
