Project Overview

The CPC Taichung Phase III LNG import terminal project scope is to deliver two 180,000 m3 Full Containment LNG Tanks Taiwan, which will become Taiwan’s largest storage tanks ever built when completed.

What You Bring

• Implement and maintain Bechtel Field Welding program for all welding operations under Tank Business Line (TBL) scope.
• Provide specialized welding engineering support for construction to ensure construction meets all code and Bechtel procedures.
• Provide technical expertise for ASME, API, and AWS or other code designed and fabricated items.
• Help manage pre- and post-weld heat treatment program whether self- performed by Bechtel or subcontractors.
• Help manage rod room and rod room attendant to ensure all weld filler materials are controlled and meet Bechtel and Code requirements.
• Help manage the NDE subcontract to include scheduling and coordinate with construction and subcontract for the best possible shooting schedule at the least cost and least impact to construction.
• Help manage and monitor welding test lab to insure high quality welders are being tested and hired.
• Work with Foreman to keep up with weld documents and ensure the credibility/accountability of the Welding Program.
• Manage issue and maintain welder qualifications and welder stamps.
• Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
• Demonstrate a personal commitment to safety.
• Provide leadership and takes personal accountability for site safety, environmental and health program.
  

About You

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Welding Engineering, Welding Technology or Mechanical Engineering.
• Min. 5 years’ experience working with an industry known tank and vessel field construction company
• Min. 2 years’ experience in a senior welding / quality supervisor role on large scale industrial direct hire API 650 / 620 or ASME Section VIII construction projects.
• A minimum or 2 years’ experience in direct hire welding and NDE of LNG 9% nickel tanks or large field erected pressure vessels.
• Extensive knowledge of ASME, AWS, API, NFPA, AWWA, ASTM and ASNT codes, specifications and standards.’
• Proficient with automatic tank welding equipment (AGW, AVW, LT-7’s), set-up, troubleshooting and problem solving techniques.
• Must be certifiable by written examination to Bechtel’s nondestructive examination requirements as NDE Level II in Radiographic, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant and Visual Examination.
• Proficient in multiple welding processes applications.
• Strong technical background and knowledge of all phases of welding applications and methods, and non-destructive examination relating to construction activities.
