In System Design, we consider delivering the best imaging and classification data for every defect or point on any layer at any time. This role will be responsible for identifying and developing current and next-generation tools to support the division’s and KLA’s overall roadmap.

Responsibilities

  • Drive hardware and technology development from the initial concept and design phase. In charge of prototyping, productization and the hand-off to manufacturing.
  • Design hardware or experiments for charged particle system characterization and critical risk retirement of those systems.
  • Debug test setups, execute experiments, collect and analyze data for result-presentation to stakeholders.
  • Analyze current systems to identify focus areas for improvement and perform data reduction, analyze results, and present findings.
  • Create system requirements, including mechanical, electrical, and software for improvements and communicate across KLA’s engineering teams.
  • Source key components such as hardware, guns, columns and detectors.
  • Troubleshoot systems for development and establishment for the metrology and diagnostics to understand and efficiently utilize these highly complex tools.
  • Education and Experience

  • MS. or Ph.D. education background in Engineering, Physics, Material Science, or related fields
  • 5-10 years of particle experience in electron beam systems
  • Key Qualifications

  • Effective customer management and interpersonal skills, in addition to a deep technical understanding of the KLA product and how it is used by the customer
  • Demonstrate leadership by taking the initiative in identifying and proposing solutions for potential issues that could impact the product success before turns into a problem
  • Possess a strong sense of purpose and be driven to continually improve self, others, and the way we do business
  • A good understanding of Optical, Optomechanical and Software systems and their interactions in the context of sophisticated industrial equipment
  • Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills in optics, opto-mechanics, and motion control systems
  • Should be familiar with scientific and statistical analysis tools and SW tools such as Matlab, JMP, Zemax and LabView Experience with scripting languages, such as Python, is a plus
  • Experience in developing a subsystem in one or more of the above areas are highly desirable
