It boils down to Digital River taking risk and responsibility on behalf of our clients to process payments, mitigate fraud, and handle taxes and regulatory compliance.Digital River is a digital first company headquartered in Minneapolis with offices across the U.S., Asia, Europe and South America.Job DescriptionThe Software Engineer’s primary purpose is to design, develop, modify, test and implement software programming for enhancements and new products while achieving high quality and on time delivery. This position is responsible for ensuring the overall functional quality of the released product on all required platforms and mechanisms. The Software Engineer works with general supervision on medium level projects with latitude for independent judgment.Design and Development
  • Participate in the design, development, and implementation of a single product modules/sub-systems or on moderate issues of multiple products
  • Perform maintenance and enhancements on existing software products via coding, testing, and debugging
  • Analyze problems or software enhancements and provide suggestions for improvements to team
  • Independently develops an understanding of potential problems with software
  • Perform defect verification, release testing and beta support for assigned products
  • Participate in process improvement initiatives for the software team by recognizing areas for improvement and working with others to develop and document process improvements
  • Assist with the creation of project estimates and designs for customization requests and product improvements
  • Participate in and assist in leading special projects as requested to gain additional product understanding
  • Create, document, and execute software designs which may involve complicated workflows or multiple product areas
  • Works with remote staff and offshore resources
  • Manages developer tools, such like Jenkins, GitHub, Nexus, etc.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Software Engineering/Related field, 2-5 years of experience in Software Engineering/Information Technology
  • Widespread understanding of IT systems infrastructure and engineering practices
  • Hands on experience in web-based technologies
  • Strong knowledge of software design, development, debug and test practices
  • Understand and have worked on complex products, solutions, and problems
  • Identify quality components and contribute to test approach for multiple testing responsibilities (i.e. functions, load, automation, performance, etc.)
  • Ability to collaborate with cross functional team of business owners, Developers, Business Analysts, and Quality Assurance
  • Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
Preferred:
  • Experience working with agile methodology
  • Ability to perform duties independently with general supervision
  • Working knowledge of systems and processes relevant to Software Engineering
  • Experience working with remote peers
  • Experience on Linux servers
  • Experience on service integration among developer tools
  • Knowledge and experience on AWS services
