Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, a related technical field or equivalent practical experience.
  • 4 years of experience in software development and programming.

Preferred qualifications:
  • 5 years of experience as a firmware engineer in consumer electronics, computer engineering, or related field.
  • Experience in hardware and software development methodology.
  • Experience in factory floor assembly process and methodologies along with manufacturing tests.
  • Experience with development and new board bring up.
  • Familiar with PDM/PCM, USB, Serial Communication Protocols (e.g., I2C, SPI, UART), MIPI, and SDIO.
  • Understanding of electrical test tools (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes, or data signal acquisition modules).

About The Job

You will develop and support a comprehensive hardware diagnostic tool suite for prototyping hardware and system validation testing. You will work as a member of a platform hardware development team and work in all phases of development and support from architecture definition and design through implementation, debugging, testing, and support. You will collaborate alongside other hardware, firmware, software, and QA engineers, manufacturing test teams, and external development partners.

Responsibilities

  • Test map coverage, priorities, and schedule of the manufacturing firmware.
  • Support, troubleshoot, conduct diagnostics, evaluate electronic circuitry, subsystems, or other hardware elements.
  • Define and verify the functionality of manufacturing test firmware and manage automation of firmware test cases to help scale development and manufacturing test process.
  • Understand, schedule, risk, priorities, and factory timelines before, during, and after the build.
  • Travel up to 25% of the time to Fitbit Manufacturing Sites and other Fitbit development office.
