Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience with two or more of the following or similar programming languages: Java, Python, Rust, C/C++, and/or Go.

Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience in non-functional testing domains (e.g., performance, reliability, security, stress tests, etc.).
  • Experience in creating test libraries, utilities, or frameworks.
  • Experience with standard Linux command line tools (i.e. those related to networking tasks).
  • Experience with a unit testing framework (e.g., JUnit, TestNG, Python Test, Google Test, or similar) and concepts like stubbing, mocking, etc.
  • Understanding of Wi-Fi technologies and networking concepts (e.g., addressing, subnetting, transport protocols, OSI Layers, DHCP, DNS, etc.) and features (e.g., VPN, Captive Portal, Tethering, etc.).
  • Ability to write high-quality, well-documented, and well-tested code.

Our mission is to ensure the functionality and performance of network related features on Android. Our scope includes functional and non-functional tests for Pixel and Wi-Fi, Android Wi-Fi stack, Android Core Network stack, and more.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of building and improving virtual test infrastructure for connectivity (e.g., WiFi, Core Network) tests utilizing various tools.
  • Build and maintain re-usable and scalable test libraries, infrastructure, and reporting solutions for Connectivity features across all Android products with focus on Google Pixel.
  • Work with the Android Core Networking, Android Wi-Fi, Pixel Wi-Fi, and other project teams to understand the product specifications, feature scope, design testing solutions, and tooling accordingly.
  • Enable Software Engineers and Test Engineers to write efficient tests and provide them with the tools to communicate the most impactful signals to our stakeholders.
