Giving back is in our DNA—our team members across more than 50 sites globally are involved with hundreds of charities that have special meaning to them through our West Without Borders team member-led giving program.Job SummaryIn this role, as a senior software engineer with a focus on the backend development, you will design, develop, document, test, and enhance highly available, distributed, scalable and secure compute systems and platforms with an emphasis on Internet of Things Applications in the Health/Medical Industry, Factory Automation, Digital Manufacturing Orchestration, and other team initiatives.Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Work with internal/external stakeholders to understand business needs and translate to technical designs
• Execute full lifecycle software development
• Write well-designed, self-documented, testable, performant, secure, and efficient code
• Design and implement new software features with frequent reviews from stakeholders
• Research emerging technologies to create and maintain competitive advantage
• Contribute to the continued improvement of standards, tooling, and processes
• Create prototype solutions that explore innovative ideas
• Participate in cross-team technical discussions
• Participate in daily standup meetings
• Participate in code reviews
• Other duties as assigned

Basic QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent preferredExperience: Minimum 5 years related work experienceProgramming: Fluency in Node.js and other modern languagesInfrastructure: Knowledge and experience in modern computer system architecture, cloud technology, and databasesLanguage: Fluent in Mandarin and English in reading, writing, and speakingPossess a strong level of curiosity, interest, and eagerness to learn modern technologies quicklyPreferred Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

• In-depth experience with agile development practices
• Solid experience with TypeScript, NodeJS, and PostgreSQL for backend development
• Experience with NestJS is a big plus
• Experience with RxJS is a plus
• Experience with IoT (Internet of Things) device connectivity is a good asset
• Experience with Kafka is a big plus
• Experience with GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) validation, Medical Regulatory Approval processes are a big plus
• Expertise in development concepts such as multi-threading and concurrency
• Ability to work in a global and virtual environment
• Ability to lead a team of software engineers through the entire software lifecycle
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
