VanMoof is an innovative bike company that’s changing the world of urban mobility with smart and connected next-generation e-bikes.

We are currently seeking a Senior Mfg. Engineer based in Taipei to supercharge our manufacturing processes in 2022 and beyond. You’ll work closely with our Production Quality team, RD and production supplier, and you’ll maintain crucial oversight over our product assembly process and product improvement activities. But we’ll expect you to bring a diverse range of quality methodology experience to the table, and your creative problem-solving mindset will easily be able to tackle anything that comes your way. You’ll oversee the development, implementation, and improvement of our e-bike assembly process within an innovative and tight-knit team.

What you’ll do:
  • Lead the team to develop the core skill of assembly process with Lean concept.
  • Utilize the DFX concept to our all Mfg. Process improvement.
  • Work with R&D and SQE to implement changes to the manufacturing process.
  • Perform PFEMA process, and determine risk and impact during product development and engineering changes.
  • Use NPI process to determine SOP/SIP, and ensure relevant documentation is correctly implemented in our manufacturing facility to keep VanMoof standards at the highest they can be.
  • Design jig and fixtures for "ease of manufacturability" and quality/repeatability improvements.
  • Work with manufacturing partners to get the proper testing equipment and jigs to ensure a reliable production process.
  • Provide support to R&D to resolve manufacturing issues and ensure process improvement - Validate manufacturing systems, establish critical processes and prepare reports for performance when needed.
  • Support the plant productivity improvement.
What you’ll bring:
  • You have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering (mechanical or IE preferred).
  • You have at least five years of experience in manufacturing or a production-quality role.
  • NPI experience towards process design and implementation.
  • Strong knowledge of PFEMA process and mechanical assembly.
  • Knowledge in testing fixture design & mechanical jig design.
  • Familiar with problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, SCAR, etc.
  • You are fluent in written and verbal English.
  • You know how to use process quality tools, including MSA.
  • You have excellent communication skills, you’re able to learn quickly, and you’re comfortable working solo as well as within a team.
  • You’re proficient in spreadsheet software, precisely MS Excel skills.
  • You currently live in Taiwan.
Bonus points for the following:
  • Knowledge of e-bike manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of PPAP/ FAI/AQPA.
  • Automated machinery development, from cradle to grave.
  • Knowledge of PLC & HMI programming and debugging.
  • Solidworks design capabilities (jigs, fixtures, gauges, etc.)

  • Working knowledge of e-bike manufacturing.
  • An affinity for data analysis and report generation.
  • An analytical and logical mindset, with meticulous attention to detail.
