The Regional Service Manager, Asia Pacific reports directly to the Business Leader APAC and is responsible for all service (commercial and technical) related activities, as well as the service strategy for the Asia Pacific region. The commercial activities encompass , customer development, project management and service excellence. The site activities are run by a technical field services team within Hitec which services and maintains an installed base of circa 400 units. The successful incumbent will lead a team of ~30 full-time employees in the region. Major roles and responsibilities would include:
  • Planning, directing and executing the service growth strategy in APAC; developing a short-to-medium term rolling strategic plan which links to overall corporate strategy.
  • Running P&L and responsible for the service business performance, with direct responsibilities over international contract management, after sales, and field services.
  • Leading/managing all activities around service sales, taking charge of the service order management flow in a timely/cost-effective basis
  • Developing/recommending short-and-long range objectives for continuous improvement of its competitive position and profitability within the region.
  • Working closely with the HQ to ensure regional communications around all appropriate matters (i.e. deliveries, market trend, quality, translation related issues, etc.)
  • Planning and implementing regional organizational structure to support planned growth
  • Active management and control of the distributors in the Japan and Korea
Requirements
  • International service experience in a technical engineering/solution environment
  • Strong leadership with hands-on experience leading multiple functions and larger group of employees in a regional setting.
  • Strong analytical and strategic thinking capability, and highly entrepreneurial
  • “Hands-on” & “practical” mentality, think-and-act
  • Cross-functional, cross-cultural, integrated thinking and behavior
  • Engaging proposition – able to cooperate with key stakeholders internally and externally
  • Mature, intellectually able, strategically astute with a pragmatic orientation.
  • Capable of making own analyses/judgment to develop business plans
  • Energetic with personal robustness, – high mobility and willingness to travel extensively
  • Strong team-building capabilities with passion to develop people and support others
  • High agility – able to detect changing environment and quickly adapt to it
  • Strong financial savvy with knowledge of running full-fledged financial dynamics (margin, costing, impacts on P&L and balance sheet etc.)
  • Project management know-how with experience leading installation, commissioning and after services portfolio is high preferred.
  • Strong proficiency of English is a must, while Chinese capability is preferable.
