This position is based in Hsinchu, Taiwan, and reports to the Global Projects Director.Role Overview
This position holds significant financial and operational responsibilities for the successful execution of high-profile, high-value projects. The key objectives are to deliver projects on schedule, within budget, and to meet quality standards. The specific duties and responsibilities of this role are detailed below:
Sales Phase
- Support the Sales Department by providing AutoCad drawings and offering guidance on work sequencing, programming, and method statements.
- Participate in installation and project management meetings with clients.
- Assist in meetings during the inquiry phase with suppliers and installers.
- Assume overall responsibility for ensuring contract compliance within specified timelines and budget constraints.
- Enhance the company’s reputation and foster professional relationships to promote future business opportunities.
- Act as the central point of contact for all customer, professional team, and supplier communications and documentation.
- Attend crucial meetings with clients, professional teams, suppliers, and installers.
- Participate in key offsite and on-site events, including FATs, deliveries, on-site tests, SATs, and ISTs.
- Draft supplier purchase orders and variations.
- Prepare quotes for customer variations and amendments to the original order.
- Maintain rigorous technical, contractual, and commercial control over customer and supplier contracts.
- Coordinate with other departments to ensure efficient and timely information exchange.
- Maintain accurate financial and management records for the project.
- Generate customer payment applications and draft sales invoices promptly.
- Ensure positive cash flow for the project.
- Manage and oversee suppliers to ensure exceptional performance.
- Organize and conduct pre-commissioning project briefings.
- Manage and control all project-related health and safety, quality control, and quality assurance matters.
- Create and issue necessary project programs (Gantt Charts), risk assessments, method statements, and test documentation.
- Manage and oversee on-site permit-to-work and other safe-systems of work.
- Manage and control both company and supplier resources to achieve project milestones effectively.
- Conduct a comprehensive project debrief
- Facilitate the handover to the After-Sales team.
- Address minor defects and snags with clients and suppliers.
- Handle warranty issues with clients and suppliers.
- Complete all contract documentation.
- Finalize accounts with customers and suppliers.
- Obtain final certificates of completion and making good defects.
- Complete all invoicing and debt collection.
The primary objective of this role is to provide strong leadership, management, direction, and control for major contracts related to the supply of Hitec Diesel UPS and Ride-Thru Systems. This ensures the timely, profitable, efficient, and effective delivery of entire projects in line with customer expectations.
Requirements
- Proficient in PC applications, including MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Projects, Visio, and Autocad.
- Project Manager with a Chartered Electrical or Mechanical Engineering qualification or equivalent, possessing a minimum of three years of experience in a similar role.
- Minimum of five years of experience in the electrical installation and contracting industry.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical switchgear, distribution, and diesel generation equipment and installations.
- Exceptional technical, commercial, and contractual communication skills and experience.
- Strong logical reasoning skills, organizational abilities, professional demeanor, and ability to work under pressure.
- Possession of a full driving license, passport, and willingness to travel.
- Ability to work flexibly and handle stress effectively.
- Outgoing personality with excellent interpersonal skills to manage diverse customer types at all levels of seniority.
- Proficiency in both commercial and technical aspects of the English language, including speaking, reading, and writing.
