General Summary

Provides technical expertise of hardware through sales presentations, product demonstrations, installation and maintenance of company products. Assists the sales staff in assessing potential application of company products to meet customer needs and preparing detailed product specifications for the development and implementation of customer solutions. Ensures that the product solution is functioning according to specifications. May provide follow-up support to company sales staff and customer personnel by disseminating technical information on specific hardware areas. Assists customers with any questions, issues, or troubleshooting regarding hardware tools and products.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field.

Principal Duties And Responsibilities
  • Provides timely and accurate answers to customer inquiries, often relying on consultation with experienced peers and/or managers.
  • Identifies customer problems and brings them to the attention of manager and/or project leads.
  • Answers customer questions regarding the use of tools and/or platforms.
  • Supports root cause analyses on basic customer problems to identify underlying issue.
  • Provides basic technical input to assist sales and marketing teams.
  • Participates in design or project reviews and project meetings.
  • Seeks fundamental knowledge of hardware, chip design, end-applications, markets served, and related software products.
  • Assists in the creation of a section in the product technical documentation.
  • Assists in demonstrating Qualcomm products and offerings to customers.

Level Of Responsibility
  • Working under close supervision.
  • Taking responsibility for own work and making decisions with limited impact; Impact of decisions is readily apparent; errors made typically only impact timeline (i.e., require additional time to correct).
  • Using verbal and written communication skills to convey basic, routine factual information about day-to-day activities to others who are fully knowledgeable in the subject area.
  • Completing most tasks with multiple steps which can be performed in various orders; some planning and prioritization must occur to complete the tasks effectively; mistakes may result in some rework.
  • Exercising some creativity to troubleshoot technical problems or deal with novel circumstances.
  • Using deductive problem solving to solve moderately complex problems; most problems have defined processes of diagnosis/detection; some limited data analysis may be required.

  • Financial accountability (e.g., does not involve budgeting responsibility).
  • Influence over key organizational decisions.
  • Role in strategic planning.
