Purpose of Position:

• Develop and introduce optical communication passive optical products to manufacturing.
• Apply fundamental understanding and engineering principles to analyze technical problems and support business.

Day to Day Responsibilities:

• Design, build, optimize and test passive optical product prototypes and sub-assemblies
• Introduce new product and process to manufacturing.
• Work on projects to optimize product or process design and implement the changes.
• Provide technical assistance to manufacturing, Division engineering, and production personnel.
• Apply statistical tools to analyze optical assembly processes and measurement data.
• Collaborate with colleagues worldwide.

Education & Experience:

• Master’s degree or above in Physics or Engineering with emphasis in optics.
• ≥3 years of relevant experience in passive optical components or fiber optics industry.

Required Skills:

• Background in design and assembly optical components
• Background in measurement of optical sub-assemblies (Adhesive, bonding, measurement)
• Basic knowledge of optical fibers and components
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks
• Ability to clearly express technical ideas
• Written/verbal communication skills - intermediate and preferably advanced level of English language

Desired Skills:

• Exceptional analytical skills
• Theoretical knowledge of design of optical sub-assemblies
• Programing skills (e.g. Python, Matlab…)
• Experience in manufacturing processes of optical components
• DMAIC Green belt 6 sigma
• Experience in manufacturing processes of optical components

Travel:

• International <= 20%
