Hai Long

Hai Long is an offshore wind farm project located in Changhua County, Taiwan. At the project, we are committed to building the Best Offshore Wind Team in Taiwan and the region.

About the Role

Opportunity for an ONSS Site Manager to join a major offshore wind project in Taiwan. Interested candidates must be able to commit to a full-time base in Changhua. The ONSS Site Manager will be responsible for the construction management from detail design to completion of the onshore substations, reporting to the Onshore Substation Package Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Site Manager – main focus on 230/161kV onshore substations.
  • Site-based 5 days a week, possibly sometimes on weekends.
  • Previous experience managing electrical infrastructure projects such as the construction of substations or power plants – 5 years minimum.
  • Good health, safety, and security (HSE)-understanding of electrical works and installations.
  • Managing the punch list and closing out open topics.
  • Given that the majority of open topics fall into Civil & Building Service category, a background in civil/building services is required.
  • Acts as a project representative by developing and maintaining effective relationships with customers as well as other local organizations such as authorities, banks, and suppliers to ensure their active participation in field activities.
  • Ensures proper handling, storage, and installation of delivered equipment, as well as coordination of on-site storage and shipment logistics to ensure timely site delivery of equipment and material.
  • Managing interfaces e.g. with commissioning team, Tai Power, WTG manufacturer and other.
  • Commissioning experience would be a bonus.
  • Accident and incident investigation and reporting.
  • Daily task management; tools box meeting with service team / subcontractor and updating status to Work Package.
  • Offshore Wind Farm experiences is a plus.
  • Fluent communication in Chinese and English, Taiwanese is a plus.

This Role Might be for You If

Education, certifications, experience

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical/civil engineering or construction management.
  • Have worked in a position asSite Manager for a HV substation from initiation through basic design, fabrication, installation and commissioning to completion.
  • Experience of managing external contractors such as HV equipment suppliers and offshore/onshore substation EPC contractors. Alternatively, experience working for these contractors is valuable.
  • Understand offshore wind farm electrical system design requirements and solutions in HV/MV/LV systems is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of what drives substation design and execution.
  • Experience with and understanding of substation auxiliary systems such as e.g. air conditioning, fire & safety etc. is desirable.
  • PMP certification will be viewed as a plus.
  • Have worked in an international environment.
  • Work experience in Asia desirable.
  • Personal drive combined with a structured and proactive approach to your work.

  • Have a collaborative approach and thrive on teamwork.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Flexible approach and thrive to work in a small team.
