Job Overview

SHL has an opening for an experienced Project Engineer/NPI manager with strong technical background, attention to detail and a background in product development and industrialization.

Responsibilities

  • Be the technical lead for the design transfer into mass-manufacturing, e.g. SHL sites in Taiwan/Switzerland/USA.
  • Coordinate interdepartmental Design for Manufacturing and Assembly review.
  • Conduct engineering feasibility studies.
  • Responsible for Root-Cause-Analysis and Problem-Solving activities.
  • Create process strategy.
  • Confirm fixtures and equipment meet the user requirement specification.
  • Participate in the Design Review.
  • Coordinate/support the evaluation and introduction of new materials and production technologies.
  • Be the SHL technical representative towards the customer.
  • Support Continues Improvement/LEAN activities in development and mass production.

Skills & Qualifications

Required

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
  • > 5 years work experience in mass-manufacturing, development, design and/or quality related areas.
  • Project management exposure.
  • Good English skills (TOEIC score over 700, or comparable).
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Familiar with CAD software.

Preferred

  • Experience in DFMA.
  • Project management training/work experience.
  • Knowledge of 6 Sigma and/or LEAN methodology (Certification a plus).
  • Working knowledge of Problem-Solving techniques.
  • Experiences with injection molding, and/or assembly of plastic components.
  • Knowledge of statistical software (e.g. Minitab).
  • Familiar with Solid works.
  • International work or study experiences.
