Main Purpose:

Taoglas have a requirement for a NPI Engineer (ME) based on our Tainan office. The NPI Engineer (ME) is responsible for supporting the introduction of new products and carrying out each trial exactly to the full product specification. This includes managing a program from early prototype builds to launch of the production line and sustainability of existing products through changes integration.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure appropriate quality and design plans are created that include all stages of the life cycle of the product.
  • Create assembly drawings.
  • Oversee the completion of scheduled prototype builds.
  • Work with cross functional groups/departments to ensure engineering and operational problems have been identified and contained.
  • Assist Engineering team to verify that modifications to the manufacturing processes and/or product design do not affect product suitability for its intended use.
  • Support validation of manufacturing bill of materials (BOM) for one or multiple lines. Manage initial materials and identify production requirements.
  • Interface with production environment, external vendors and internal purchasing to produce prototypes and production ready materials.
  • Review design processes.
  • Work for a geographically diverse team and represent customer support on multiple new products.
  • Participate in quality management reviews, ensure that all program and project lifecycle checkpoints are met with a high level of quality to ensure project success.
  • Generate necessary documents for accompanying new product release as well as performing documents correction throughout product life cycle.

Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing, or related technical field, or related work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of manufacturing or NPI role
  • Experience in design for manufacturability
  • Proficient in using Solidworks (preferred) / AutoCad / ProE, Altium experience a bonus.
  • Familiarity with Injection Moulding
  • Experience with Material Tracking and MRP systems
  • Experience in manufacturing on factory floor.
  • Familiar with manufacturing process flow and engineering design.
