Minimum qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 3 years of experience in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- 2 years of program/project management experience developing consumer electronics products through the entire life cycle with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10% of the time as needed.
- Experience in consumer electronics and specifically phone and imaging hardware development.
- Experience with mechanical design and tolerance analysis of highly constrained, high-volume designs.
- Industry experience with product development, program management, project management, professional services, and/or engineering management.
- Knowledge of hardware development and manufacturing processes, vendor relations, and working with Contract Manufacturers (CMs) in Asia.
- Ability to be a team player and creative thinker, who can lead technical teams, cross-functional groups and vendors.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You’re equally at home explaining your team’s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.
Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.
As a Module Technical Program Manager, you will work closely with Engineers, Product Managers, and Contract Manufacturers (CMs)/Original Design Manufacturers (ODMs)/Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) to get high-quality products built, tested, and released on time. You will bridge the gap between critical technologies and the system, coordinating many fast-changing, moving parts that come together as a product. You will be responsible for identifying and managing risks, making sound judgments about quality, and stopping, or speeding up production at the right time.

The team works on shaping the future of Pixel devices and services through some of the most advanced designs, techniques, products, and experiences in consumer electronics. This includes bringing together the best of Google’s artificial intelligence, software, and hardware to build global smartphones and create transformative experiences for users across the world.
Responsibilities
- Manage autonomously the development of hardware modules and drive the overall tactical execution and strategy of the team for one or more systems.
- Lead a cross-functional team to execute tactical solutions to technology development risks and issues to meet system build milestones, cost, and manufacturability.
- Develop and manage hardware module schedules and resource needs with Engineering and Operations teams, and communicate project status to stakeholders and leadership.
- Interface between vendors and cross-functional Engineering and Operations teams driving builds and managing hardware module schedules, budgets, and performance.
- Implement process improvements proactively to streamline module development, and lead module sub-system development builds at one or more vendors, and manage the budgets for module development.
