Corning’s Display Technologies segment manufactures glass substrates for active matrix liquid crystal displays (“LCDs”) that are used primarily in LCD televisions, notebook computers and flat panel desktop monitors.

Scope Of Position
  • Process engineer that applies project skills and engineering principles to lead and support the development, trial, and deployment of new technology to improve Corning’s continuous melting process.
  • Projects involve technologies to improve yield, increase throughput, or improve robustness of the melting process.
Responsibilities
  • Lead and support projects to develop melting technologies to improve process performance through yield improvements, higher throughput, and longer system life. Interface with design engineers, materials engineers, R&D, and plant operations through different stages of project work.
  • Lead and support trials of melting technologies in manufacturing plants. Report and communicate to managers and stakeholders during trials: status, issues, troubleshooting plans.
  • Lead technical assessments and data analyses to identify opportunities for process and equipment improvement and to evaluate technology trials.
  • Design and implementation of process experiments.
