Purpose Of Position

Join the technical team to develop and deploy state of the art measurement and process control (both hardware and software) in support of early stage, pilot and high volume manufacturing for cost reduction, process improvement, technology transfers and expansion projects. Maintain and advance knowledge in the state of the art application of measurement technologies to the design of equipment, process/product prototyping, and factory automation. Project assignment will involve traveling to Asia regions such as Taiwan, China, Japan, S. Korea, etc.

Required Skills

• Owns System integration experiences in mechanical system, and/or machine vision system, and/or automation system
• Be familiar with image processing software, such as Halcon, openCV and Solid understanding of laser tech and optics
• Solid understanding of auto mechanical design - Familiarity with 2D or 3D engineering design and manufacturing tools (e.g., AutoCAD, ProE or other)
• Design systems and components that meet needs and requirements
• Perform a full lifecycle product development (design, develop, test prototypes, manufacture and implement)
• Conduct experiments methodically, analyze data and interpret results
• Test and evaluate theoretical designs
• Identify, formulate and produce effective solutions to emerging problems
• Estimate budget and scope of project
  

Desired Skills

• Mechanical air bearing experience is a plus
• Programming skills, such as C/C++, .NET, VB, MATLAB, etc.
• Awareness of machine vision
• Basic knowledge in industry electrical
• Basic knowledge in optics
• Awareness of control such as PC-based, PLC, etc.
