This work is around new middleware development for Vizio TVs.

You will need to work very closely with SoC vendors to debug and resolve issues in middleware platform or extensions to the OS. You will also need to work very closely with teams in Belarus and Lithuania.

There are built in libraries in the codebase for audio, DRM, input management etc. Developers may need to extend the functionality of those libraries. For example – they may need to add another input source.

Skillset Requirements

• 8-10 years of working experience
• Able to speaking both Mandarin and English
• Experience developing and debugging embedded software, preferably for Android/Linux.
• Must have strong C++ skills
• Must have experience with: Linux OS internals, Linux kernel software Embedded Linux U-Boot/kernel development, Embedded Linux device driver development, optimizations, bug fixing
• Experience debugging embedded systems
• Experience with communication networks and protocols (e.g. USB, Ethernet, TCP/IP, etc.)
• Experience with HW accelerated graphics processing (OpenGL ES) is good to have.
• Experience with Media pipeline would be good to have
• Knowledge of Android NDK and SDK is a plus
• This team will be responsible for engineering and support for the underlying OS is some stripped-down version of Linux.

Responsibilities

• You will need to work very closely with SoC vendors and ODMs vendor to debug and resolve issues in the Vizio middleware platform or Vizio extensions to the OS.
• The candidates will also need to work very closely with the EPAM-Vizio teams in Belarus and Lithuania.
• There are built in libraries in the codebase for audio, DRM, input management etc. Developers may need to extend the functionality of those libraries. For example – they may need to add another input source.
