Quality Engineer

(Quality Engineer - Server Memory & Storage)

Onsite Microsoft (MSFT) office

Responsibilities:

• Oversee the test plans & qualification coverage for Memory (DDR4/DDR5)& Storage (HDD and NVMe), incl. usage models
• Debug & drive to resolution issues related to the qualification of client’s Cloud Servers. Microsoft Server OS knowledge required
• Work w/ suppliers & internal teams on resolving issues
• Interact w/ multiple teams inside & outside of client
• Review system SKU, SW stack OS, BIOS, BMC, RM for each TRR (Test Run Request)
• Review commodity Storage & Memory device test plan for qualification for each SKU system per detailed test run request (TRR)
• Create a test listrecommendation per TRR
• Following up qualification run status, repro issues, debug issues & remove roadblock.
• Disposition all bugs in each TRR
• Review results & report from execution engineering team
• Preparation & send out signoff report, update ADO for each TRR signoff
• Supporting issues in pre-qual (a.k.a SIP), meeting or working w/ suppliers
• Understand test environment & tests flow, ad-hoc or modify scripts are often needed to a workaround fortest script or automation environment issue.
• Other related qualification task upon request

Qualifications:

• B.S. in EE, or Computer Engineering, or Master’s degree preferred, or exp. working on computer, Storage & Memory system.
• 5+ years of exp. in hardware validation(planning, documentation, development, execution, and debug)
• Knowledge ofX86 server systems, NUMA System Memory& Storage architectures
• Familiar w/ networking, power, rack management & remote access environments
• Knowledge of common test tools to stress CPU/DIMM/Storage such as FIO, stress app test, Prime95, etc.
• Exp. integrating & validating hardware components and/or system levels.
• Familiar w/ and able to develop scripts (PowerShell, Python, Perl) and routines to enable debug, and accelerate data collection, and data reduction via automation
• Self-motivated individual, must be able to work collaboratively in team environment and across internal divisions & industry (OEM, ODM), demonstrate technical leadership in driving successful product development
• English ability to read/write is a must. English speaking is preferred.
• Must demonstrate initiative and ownership of assigned responsibilities
• Soft Skills: Good listener, positive attitude, sense of humor, open minded, respect, patience, resolving issues, etc.
• Exp. working in a collaborative environment and promoting a teamwork mentality
• Patience to detail, Good analytical thinking and problem-solving skills

• Working permit and Mandarin ability are required with foreigner
