Minimum qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical/engineering field or equivalent practical experience
  • 5 years of experience in engineering, technical program management, or sourcing
  • Experience working with technical product development teams

Preferred qualifications:
  • MBA or Master’s degree in a technical or engineering field
  • Experience with compute, storage, networking, or data center infrastructure (e.g. rack integration)
  • Ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
  • Excellent leadership and analytical skills

About The Job

As a Global Manufacturing Partner Manager, you will be responsible for the commercial and operations management of Technical Infrastructure’s contract manufacturing and joint design manufacturer (JDM) partners that build server, storage, networking, and machine learning infrastructure. You’ll be a part of developing and executing Google’s sourcing strategy for various aspects of compute and storage, which help to power all of Google’s services. You will lead and add value to large cross-functional projects, as well as understand and resolve complex supply chain issues and risks. You will be a key part of an end-to-end technical supply chain team that drives continuous improvement and ensures operational excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership as the supplier management point of contact in the product development of infrastructure projects. Contribute market knowledge and supply base expertise.
  • Partner with hardware and software engineers to develop supplier strategies aligned with product and technology roadmaps.
  • Define cost drivers, develop cost models, and establish cost analyses.
  • Lead request for proposals (RFPs), agreement structuring/discussions, and supplier selection processes.
  • Manage supplier relationships and performance, aligning technology, cost, quality, and delivery drivers.
