Field Application Engineer - APAC

Agile Analog is a VC funded start-up (30+ people) who are revolutionising the way Analog circuits are designed. Based in Cambridge,United Kingdom we are growing quickly to become one of the world’s leading Analog IP companies and are currently growing our team in Taiwan. Using our innovative core technology, we are able to design analog circuits faster, to a higher quality, and on any silicon process. We are part of a dynamic market and we are disrupting methodologies that have been unchanged for generations.

We are looking for an analog-knowledgeable Applications Engineer to join our Field Sales team within Taiwan. This is an exciting position for an ambitious, enthusiastic engineer with knowledge of, and a passion for, analog circuit design, and the ability to discuss, analyse and identify solutions with our customers. You will have the opportunity to travel widely in support of our innovative analog IP portfolio and unique business model.

This role would suit someone who enjoys developing and presenting solutions to technical professionals at all levels, is a “self-starter” and comfortable working remote from colleagues as the customers’ location requires. As a critical contributor in our sales team, working intimately with both our engineering and marketing teams, you will have the responsibility of representing Agile Analog’s technical capabilities and company ethos to the marketplace.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Supporting sales with technical discovery calls / meetings
  • Supporting sales to match customer needs with Agile Analog’s value propositions
  • Supporting customers with development and use of IP
  • Answering queries from prospects pre-sales
  • Assisting customers at shows or events
  • Presenting technical seminars & workshops
  • Acting as liaison between customer and engineering
  • Understanding customer requests & ideas; ensuring these are captured and fed back to engineering for consideration
  • Writing documentation (app notes etc)


Requirements

What we need from you
  • Experience in technical support of the sales process in the field, liaising with subject matter experts in marketing and engineering to identify practical solutions to customers’ needs
  • Experience specifying and designing analog integrated circuits for modern SoCs on CMOS processes
  • Experience/Knowledge of analog system level design and trade-offs for SoCs
  • An understanding of top-down design methodologies and flows for analog and digital design
  • Must be comfortable dealing with customers and presenting technical subjects
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills (written & in person)
  • A “self-starter” attitude with initiative and capable of managing their own work
  • You will need to be a good team player, preferably with a practical experience of the sales process and supporting customers’ technical requirements in the field.
  • An outgoing, positive and self-motivating character
  • A degree-level background (or equivalent experience) in electronics/microelectronics
  • Knowledge in design/system application of analog IP
  • Will involve international travel (25%)

Even better if you have
  • Macro-level experience integration, verification and tape-out
  • Some programming experience Matlab, Python, C
  • Team-lead experience
  • Knowledge of commonly used tools within the industry (Cadence, Synopsys, Mentor)
  • Ideally have some experience with software or web eg setting up support tools or customer portals (Bugzilla, Jira)
  • Knowledge of SoC design process
  • Experience/Knowledge of how analog circuits and macros are integrated into a complex SoC/ASIC. Experience performing analog top-level tapeout is a plus
