The Correspondent Account Exec is a seasoned professional role. Territory includes: national footprint (including focus on MDI acquisition, non-delegated lender management/acquisition, fulfilling CRA requirements, and other strategic initiatives). Applies in-depth disciplinary knowledge, contributing to the development of new techniques and the improvement of processes and work-flow for the area or function. Integrates subject matter and industry expertise within a defined area. Requires in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute to the objectives of the function and overall business. Evaluates moderately complex and variable issues with substantial potential impact, where development of an approach/taking of an action involves weighing various alternatives and balancing potentially conflicting situations using multiple sources of information. Requires good analytical skills in order to filter, prioritize and validate potentially complex and dynamic material from multiple sources. Strong communication and diplomacy skills are required. Regularly assumes informal/formal leadership role within teams. Involved in coaching and training of new recruits. Significant impact in terms of project size, geography, etc. by influencing decisions through advice, counsel and/or facilitating services to others in area of specialization. Work and performance of all teams in the area are directly affected by the performance of the individual.

Responsibilities

:
  • Serve as key account manager within a specific region while also serving as an overall conduit to the business as it relates to that specific account base, pricing, and overall competitive intelligence.
  • Identify, develop and maintain accounts within assigned market that possess incremental production and opportunities; including contact with multiple contacts at the seller’s office to promote use of Citi’s programs and products.
  • Proactively communicate on a daily basis with accounts to generate volume and resolve issues; generate, distribute, and maintain Sales Plans of Action as applicable.
  • Participate with Division Sales Managers to support development and implementation of account specific strategic plans.
  • Promote understanding and familiarity with loan products and programs as well as company lending policies and guidelines.
  • Interfacing with internal departments and functional areas to insure consistent service levels as well as to communicate policy/process issues at the direction of the Division Sales Managers.
  • Diagnose and resolve individual and escalated loan transaction issues by collaborating with various functional areas such as Client Relations, Underwriting, Intermediary Management, and Pre-Purchase.
  • Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm’s reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.
Qualifications

:
  • 8-10 years mortgage experience preferred, with an emphasis in correspondent lending.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry, Capital Markets/Secondary, Credit/Risk, outside/inside sales experience as well as relationship selling experience are essential skills required for this position.
  • Good balance of intellect as well as consistent exercise of discretion and judgment as it relates to the specific responsibilities.
  • Highly developed communication skills, presentation skills as well as written communications (both internally and externally).
  • Experience working with MDI’s, non-delegated lenders, fulfilling CRA requirements, and other strategic initiatives.
Education:
  • Bachelor’s/University degree or equivalent experience
